Book Review Wednesday

This weeks book review is another kids book. It is Eric Carle's "10 Little Rubber Ducks". The girls love this one. They love to count the ducks. It is the story about 10 little rubber ducks who are packaged up and then shipped to their destination. The box falls overboard and the story follows where the ducks end up. The only thing I didn't like about the book was the repeating a some of the lines. I admit that I skip over those extra lines when I read the book. It is a cute and colorful book with a cute little squeak at the end.

All you need to do to participate is review a book on your blog. It can be any kind of book. I am always trying to find something new to read and would love any suggestions. If you have a book you want to review, just review it on your blog and then post your link here so that we can check it out. I really need some suggestions for some new grownup books to read :).

Book Review Wednesday

It's book review Wednesday. All you need to do to participate is review a book on your blog. It can be any kind of book. I am always trying to find something new to read and would love any suggestions. If you have a book you want to review, just review it on your blog and then post your link below.

This weeks book is "Digging to America" by Anne Tyler. It was okay. It is about 2 families who meet at the airport waiting for their daughters that they adopted from Korea to come to America. One of the families is American and the other is Iranian. The story kind of drug out a little bit and there really wasn't that much story to it. I don't think the characters were developed like they could have been. The story basically talks about some of the different parenting styles and some of how it feels to be an immigrant here. The American family ends up adopting a child from China. There really wasn't much of a story to the book. If you have read it and got something different out of it, please leave a comment. I would love to hear what you have to say about it because I was a little disappointed. I would recommend borrowing this from the library and not buy it (like I already did).

Remember if you want to participate, just review a book on your blog and post a link here.

Book Review Wednesday

This weeks book review is a kids book, but I love this book as well. It's a sweet, sweet book. Sisters by David McPhail. It is about a big sister and little sister and it talks about how they are different and the same. I got this book for Maddie before Sophie came home and we read it all the time. I think it helped make her excited for a sister. She loves this book and ask to read it all the time. I highly recommend it if you have a daughter who is about to become a sister or already is a sister or even give it to your sister.

If you would like to participate in book review Wednesdays, just leave a link here to your blog. I would love to get new book suggestions. Next week I'll be done with "Digging to America" so I will post about that one.

Book Review Wednesday

How about a new blogger topic? How about book review Wednesday's? I have actually started reading again (yeah!). I have several books I want to review, but I will start with this one.

This book started off very slow, but really picked up toward the middle. It is about a boy who goes on a shooting spree at his high school. It is about nineteen minutes that can change your life. The story is told from several different points of view. The shooter, the shooters mother, the detective, one of the shooters friend and her mother. The shooter was bullied his entire school life and he had enough. I felt so sorry for everyone in the book. My heart broke for all of the characters. They each had different struggles to get over. The book made me really think about Brandon in his high school. It is his first year there. I know that there are some kids who are going thru this same thing. It's hard.

I highly recommend this book. It does start out slow, but it gets better. If you've read it, go ahead and leave a comment. If you have a book you want to suggest, just post it on your blog and then post your link in the Mr. Linky thing below. Don't forget to leave a comment.
