Tonight was a sad night. Maddie watched the Wizard of Oz as she has done so many times the last month or so. Well tonight something clicked with her. She cried and cried and cried when Dorothy was leaving Oz. She kept wanting Dorothy to stay. She cried so hard she was gagging. It took a long time to get her calmed down, but she would still call out for Dorothy. I have no idea what it was. We explained that Dorothy had to go home and see Auntie Em because she missed her, but she didn't want it to happen. She was sad because Dorothy was leaving her friends behind. We even explained to her that the Wizard was there with Dorothy in Kansas as well as the scarecrow, tin man and lion. She was still heartbroken. Hopefully the next time she watches it, she won't have the same reaction. It was heartwrenching to watch. On a side note though, we did get extra snuggle time and she did learn Eskimo kisses. So next time you see her, ask her for an Eskimo kiss! They are so sweet (of course that is when her nose isn't to runny!).
