4 Years Ago Today

4 years ago today in a hot conference room in Chengdu, I met this sweet, stubborn, funny, loving and demanding little 13 month old girl. I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember almost pushing Lori out of the way so that I could get my baby. It seemed so surreal at the moment. That one moment that I had dreamed about for so long. That one moment where I took her in my arms and just stared at her. She was so beautiful. She still makes that face today. It was funny, but she was the only baby that didn't cry. She was the oldest in the group by 2 months and she seemed the most determined to leave. I remember wishing that AJ and Brandon were with me, but I also remember how cool it was to have my mom there to witness that moment. I remember how light she was. She only weighed 19lbs. She was sweaty. Her hair was thin, but she was clean and seemed very well taken care of. I remember how I was the only one that could hold her and how I thought my arms were going to die. I remember wanting to go home so bad so that she could meet her daddy and her brother. I also remember trying to keep her from walking. I wanted her daddy to witness that moment (and he did). I also remember how much in love with that little girl I was. I still am to this day. She has brought us so much joy and lot's of funny moments. She is our diva. She knows what she wants. I still can't believe that it has been 4 years. Time goes by so quickly. Today also marks 1 1/2 years since Sophie joined our family. I can't believe that either. It just seems like these two have always been here and I can't ever remember a moment when they weren't. This was a video I made of Maddie a long time ago. It has her Gotcha day on it and a pictures of her first 6 months or so home. I'm to lazy to get all the pictures out and make a new one, but I love this one.
