Today's doctor visit

Today's doctor visit went much better. Sophie didn't cry and the doctor seemed much more relaxed around kids. He was really, really nice. He told us the same thing the other doctor told us so it was good to hear the same thing twice. The biggest thing is, she will not need surgery. Her hips were perfectly straight. One shoulder was just a hair higher than the other and she was straight from her neck down to her pelvis. The other doctor said she didn't have any fused ribs, but I could see some on this x-ray. They are not fused together to the point that she will need surgery to separate them so that is a huge blessing. He wants us to come back in 6-9 months and do an MRI to make sure that everything is okay on the inside and with her neck. He said she could do sports except for tumbling because of her lack of flexibility. All in all her special need has really turned out to be a non issue. She will be petite for the rest of her life and have a small trunk, but everything else should be normal. He still wants to do an ultrasound to make sure she has both kidneys, but I'm sure everything will be fine. As I told AJ on the way home, we are so blessed. We prepared for the worst and received the best.
Also the girls got their haircuts before the doctors appointment. Sophie got a clean up and Maddie got hers cut short. She looks so cute. They both look cute, but I love Maddie's hair cut like this. I also got mine cut and donated the hair to Locks of Love.
When we came home, Maddie and Sophie were outside with daddy working on the grill. Sophie came inside and said "What's going on". It was plain as day. She's never said that sentence before. She also picked up her little red bible and said bible and her stickers and said stickers. It is just so amazing to hear all of the words she is picking up daily.
